Sony Ericsson new models - K850, W910, W960, Z320, Z250Trawling the internet for new gadgets (a typically male thing to do on a wet Saturday!), I found this site detaling a batch of new phones which Sony Ericsson have unveiled. The bad news is that they aren’t due for release until nearer Christmas!

I’ve always been a fan of Nokia phones, they are simple to use and relatively fashionable but last year I switched to a Sony Ericsson K800i and I’m glad that I did. The menu system and controls are every bit as easy to use and understand as any of the Nokias I’ve had in the past, and it’s packed with good features.

The main reason for choosing this phone over the multitude of others on offer, was the inclusion of a 3.2 megapixel camera and I’ve not been disappointed by the pictures it has taken in it’s time with me.

A newer version has recently been released, the K810i, but this is basically a facelifted model - the basic features are much the same, but the phone is lightly smaller and the keypad has had a redesign.

Of the 4 new models announced this week, the K850i which is pictured second from the right above, is the real replacement of the K800i. It now boasts a 5 megapixel camera which is quite a step up in quality from the K800i and will keep it on a par with the Nokia N95 - though Nokia will likely have a new batch of cameras out by then too which may raise the stakes yet again.

The reason for this announcement catching my attention is that I’ll be due a handset upgrade in a few months, and unless another manufacturer releases something special then I think the K850i will be the one that fits the bill.
