Lewis Hamilton and McLaren have done an absolutely amazing job so far this season - much more than most people had hoped for.

For a driver to be on the podium of every race so far and to have 2 wins on the trot this early in the season is something special, something normally only associated with a more experienced driver who is sure to be battling for the title. For that driver to be someone who has only just arrived in F1 is simply amazing!

Over the last few years, more and more gadgets in our lives have been made available with some form of wireless connectivity - from cordless phones in the house, mobile phones for use outside the house, to wireless internet, wireless headphones, remote controls for everything under the sun, etc, etc the list goes on and on.

One drawback, and something I’ve thought about for a long time now- although I wasn’t sure if it would ever actual become available - was wireless electricity.

I read about this advert in The Sun during the week, and then forgot all about it until today.

Bob Monkhouse was a very well known comedian, laterly better known as a quiz show host, who died 4 years ago from prostate cancer. In a rather novel twist a new ad campaign to raise money for a prostate cancer charity has been started which mixes the use of a body double, old footage of Bob himself, and some computer wizardry to splice it all together including a new audio track.

Heading into this season, there were changes to certain rules in Formula 1 including those which concerned the period when the Safety Car was on track.

The Safety Car is only deployed when there has been a crash or some other such incident which has caused the race officials to conclude the circuit is in a condition which makes it unsafe for the cars to continue at race speeds. Because the lap times were therefore increased as the cars were driving much slower, it was an ideal time to make a pitstop to take on more fuel as you would in essence lose less time relative to the cars still on track.

There’s not much better than a good gadget, something that looks the business and has loads of cool features - and so what if some of them are actually of no real use!

The gadget pictured here though, is a new Weather Station which I think is the best looking thing I’ve seen in ages which lets face it, is one of the most important feature of anything which is challenging for a spot in your home. Not only that but it does really have some real-world use.
