I like Ikea - after all what is there not to like?
Good looking and seemingly good quality furniture and other bits and bobs all at very reasonable prices - very, very reasonable in fact in most cases.
We made a visit to Ikea in Glasgow at the weekend to have a quick squint at furniture for our house - the house isn’t quite ready to accept furniture though so no chance of any purchases at this particular moment in time, just wanted a quick look around to get some ideas.

Excuse me for a minute, I just need to work my way through a problem - writing things down is meant to help order them in your mind apparently and find the best solution.
The problem is that we currently have a 27″ LCD Samsung flatscreen telly which is fine for use in the bedroom or as a second TV in another room but not much cop as the main telly in the lounge. Therefore we’d like a new one for when we move into the new house (that we’ve had for 7 months and are yet to move into…).

A new website has been started up which asks a different question each day, with people being encouraged to write a response on their own site if the topic takes their fancy.
Today the question is Who do you Miss Most in Your Life?
Doesn’t sound like it is necessarily going to be the cheeriest of topics, but I thought I would give it a shot!
I’m not a huge “people person” who needs or wants a huge crowd of friends around me, so therefore I tend to lose contact with people fairly easily - and to be honest this doesn’t bother me at all, so I wouldn’t say I really miss them.

There are two kinds of books, those which pick me up by the scruff of the neck and drag me into the narrative right from the first chapter, the first page, the first line - and there are those which it’s a real struggle to get into for one reason or another.
Having read a few other Ben Elton books, I expected Blind Faith to follow the former route, but I actually found it really hard to get into for one reason or another.

Is this really what Montoya’s been up to since leaving F1? Obviously the NASCAR drive didn’t work out and he has had to resort to a spot of gold-digging instead…
