Yes, I have been lazy in not posting for about three weeks but I’m back and it will never happen again I promise (bear in mind that promises made on a blog are not binding).

It was reported all over the place today that Peaches Geldof has got married.  Now, it’s polite to wish people well in such circumstances but I really couldn’t care less to be totally honest.  Had she not been the daughter of Sir Bob Geldof, I wouldn’t even know her name never mind what she does - in fact, what does she do? I really have no idea.

Let’s think about this logically.

A year or so ago, Fern Britton was a well known, well rounded lady.  She started to look a little thinner and thinner until it was noticeable she had lost a significant amount of weight.

The general public who until that point had applauded her for being proud of being a bigger lady, now applauded her for her amazing weightloss.

Personally, I didn’t think or applaud anything as it doesn’t really bother me either way, nor is it any of my business.

A bit harsh perhaps, but it’s how I feel about the whole affair at the moment.

For those not familiar with the story, Andrea Smiley of Paisley has appeared in court after her pet Alsatian was found dead in her home.

Neither Miss Smiley nor her dog had been seen for a while when neighbours noticed a strange smell coming from her flat. A telephone call to the police ended with them breaking down the front door, fearful that she could be lying dead inside - what they found wasn’t Miss Smiley, it was the body of her poor dog which she had left there to die.

The time has come and the strike is on.

I normally have some sympathy for the people who feel they are forced to strike - as unions are usually involved, it’s normal that all other avenues have been tried and tested with no success.

Employees will always feel they are worth more than the employer is willing to give, but in order to gain support by striking, the demands must be reasonable - and that’s where the strikers lose my sympathy in this case.

Another issue of the News of the World, another shameful lead story concerning someone in authority, some hookers and an orgy. No Nazi overtones involved or implied this time though.

The figure involved in this instance is Lord Laidlaw who is apparently a prominent Tory peer, although I must admit I’ve never heard of him in my life!

Now, because I’m not really interested in the private life of someone I know nothing about, I skipped past most of the story until I saw one thing which caught my eye.
