I struggled with this book to be honest.

There are some things in life that just pass me by. I went to see The Matrix at the cinema and didn’t have a clue what was going on after about 5 minutes - if that! It was much the same with this book too, and I was sorely tempted to give up and start something else but I stuck with it and I’m kinda glad I did.

The catch-up didn’t happen quite as quickly as I’d hoped, but anyways…

To be honest, I’d never heard of Karin Slaughter - but what an excellent name for an author who writes about people being murdered etc!! The book was cheap, hence me buying it having never heard of the author before…

Crikey, haven’t been here in a while I’m ashamed to say.

So, it’s time for a bit of a catch up as far as books are concerned. With less than 3 months to go, I’ve written about 18 books on here so still 12 to go to reach the magical number of thirty which I hoped to have read by the end of 2009.

That’s pretty much a book a week which although it isn’t an unattainable target, it’s unlikely - especially with the things which are coming in the weeks ahead…

… being a supporter of the Scottish football team, but what can you do?

You are born where you are born and there’s not a lot you can do about it, but if that place is in Scotland then be prepared to be on pills for high blood pressure by the time you are 35.

If there’s a team which is going to struggle it’s way through a group of “easy” opponents you can rest assured it’ll be Scotland.

If there’s a team which is going to throw away a seemingly easy victory, it’ll be Scotland.

There has been some strange events in sport recently.

First, we had a terrible accident which resulted in the death of young Henry Surtees in an F2 race at Brands Hatch on 19th July 2009. He was minding his own business when a wheel became detached from another car, bounced across the track and contacted his helmet.
