I think it’s fair to say that Honda are winning (or perhaps losing) the battle to be the worst dressed team in the pitlane this year.

Those green trousers are simply horrific, but if everybody in the team has to wear something ridiculous it’s good for team morale if the men at the top also dress that way - Ferrari for example always wear the familiar red outfits, no matter what your position is within the organisation.

Following his switch from the Italian team, it’s good to hear today that we can expect Ross Brawn to be wearing the green trousers for the rest of the season.

Two races in and it’s hard to really assess how this season is going to pan out given that the two races have led to six different people on the podium, but already there are some clear winners and losers among the teams.

This is how I think the teams have faired in the season openers:

Ferrari :  Last year’s champions, but they are going to struggle to retain the title if they carry on as they are.  Uncharacteristic mechanical failures have resulted in a lot of the drivers’ time being spent off the track.  The drivers haven’t covered themselves in glory either, with both falling off the track in Melbourne before Massa repeated the mistake in Malaysia.

Jenson ButtonHow long can someone go through life hoping and promising to live up to their expectations?

Jenson Button seems to have been in F1 for years now, and has come a long way since he appeared as a freshfaced youngster full of promise as Britain’s new best hope of being World Champion.

Of course, most of the hype is built up by the media and often the actual sportsman has little control over that side of things, but it is they who suffer if things don’t go according to plan.
