I like sleep, always have and probably always will.

But since getting our kitten, Daisy, I haven’t been getting as much as I used to due to her insistence that someone gets up to feed and play with her whenever she wakes up - which is usually a good hour or two before I’d ideally be liking to waken.

However, it’s not all bad - in fact being up and about an hour earlier hasn’t affected me as much as I thought it might.  In the past, a lack of sleep has always made me grumpy with a longing all day for an early night so I can catch up straight away but that all seems to have left me now.

Everyone has a talent or two, some are pretty mediocre at best such as being able to remember certain “entertaining” facts which they can bring up at every available opportunity while others may be good at sports which enables them to entertain others and earn a fortune in the process.

This ability must rank pretty high on the list of best talents to have, but for me the best gift to have must be the ability to write songs and music.

It’s inevitable, I think at least, that how we perceive things by all 5 senses add up to how we perceive a certain item overall.

I’ll explain.  A film, for example, is aimed at our sight, but if you watch a film where the sound is dodgy or the cinema doesn’t have their speaker setup properly then you will leave with a worse impression of the film than you would have had you seen it in all it’s glory with the soundtrack as the director intended.

KeaneAs a fan of the band Keane, I was looking out for their performance at the recent VH1 Honors show appearing on the internet - and now that it has, I’m a big fan of what they have done on their cover of the Genesis song That’s All. Okay, it’s not exactly a big departure from the original but that’s not always a bad thing - and it may help introduce Genesis to a new generation of listeners.
