The News of The World today ran a story on it’s front page (in Scotland at least) regarding the personal life of an aunt of Madeleine McCann, the little girl snatched while on holiday in Portugal a few weeks ago, and as far as I’m concerned that’s not on.

Peter James - Looking Good DeadIt can be hard to review a book without giving away too much of the plot - especially in a murder-mystery like this book.

This is the second in Peter James’ series of books about Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, and to be honest I haven’t read the first - or any of James’s other books - but after this one I will definitely be searching them out.

Christopher Brookmyre - A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil Anyone who has read any of Christopher Brookmyre’s previous books will know what to expect here - brilliantly realistic characters, excellently written dialogue (if a little hard to read for the non-Scots among his fans!) and a well thought out story.

His latest offerings have all had the underlying feeling that they could easily be transformed onto the big screen as the pace of the story seems perfect for that medium.

Travis - The Boy With No NameThe first album from Fran Healy and the boys in quite a while - and thankfully it’s been worth the wait!

With most albums, after a couple of listens in quick succession then there are one or two tracks which you want to skip - then with further listens you find another couple until you basically end up listening to just the handful of songs which have eventually been released as singles! Since buying this album a couple of days ago, I’ve listened to it right through 7 or 8 times and haven’t skipped a track yet.
