This man never fails to amaze and surprise!

Normally he explains whatever it is he has done at the end of his shows, but it stills takes a little bit of understanding though with this it was like a switch was flicked as everything clicked into place.

The basic premise was that we followed the life of Kadesha, a woman who had been given tips by Derren (although she didn’t know who they were from at the time) on which horse would win a succession of races.

Excuse me for a minute, I just need to work my way through a problem - writing things down is meant to help order them in your mind apparently and find the best solution.

The problem is that we currently have a 27″ LCD Samsung flatscreen telly which is fine for use in the bedroom or as a second TV in another room but not much cop as the main telly in the lounge.  Therefore we’d like a new one for when we move into the new house (that we’ve had for 7 months and are yet to move into…).

Let’s get this out of the way straight from the off - Lewis Hamilton’s lap on Top Gear last night was simply stunning.  I had an inkling that he would do pretty well, but to almost match The Stig’s dry time when he was running on a wet track was superb.

I’m not a massive Hamilton fan, but credit where credit’s due.

What I’m not so keen on is their eagerness at getting him back to do a dry lap next summer.  Isn’t the whole point of the challenge that each person only gets one timed run?  I’m sure that Jenson Button, Mark Webber, etc could eventually beat their current times if allowed more laps.

The BBC has today announced that there are to be massive job losses at the corporation over the next few years.

Essentially, 2,500 jobs will be lost over the next 6 years but due to a change around in departments and various mergers, there will actually be 700 new jobs created so the net sum of job losses will be 1,800.

There will also be a cutback in the amount of new programmes produced by the station, which obviously means that the number of repeats is set to rise as a consequence.
